“I felt compelled to create an exhibition centered on comfort and compassion. Through figurative painting, I seek to offer a quiet refuge that invites reflection and connection.”
— Debra Lott
The Embracing Gaze of Debra Lott
Louisville artist, Debra Lott
With “Embrace,” her exhibit of new paintings at Pyro Gallery in Louisville, Debra Lott intends to give respite from the unending stream of stressful news and trauma-filled events we are witnessing in our lives and on our screens. Debra renders the stillness and presence of her female subjects, inviting us to pause and breathe along with them.
The Wonder and Humor of Carleton Wing
Walk with Kate Savage through the Carleton Wing retrospective at Loudon House. Wing was a self-taught collage and assemblage artist whose practice was grounded in imagination, humor, and storytelling. And there's a twist: the show features works by local artists who have created pieces using items selected from Wing's studio supplies as a homage to his memory.
